What are people thinking?

There is nothing that annoys me more than people making ever so slightly snide comments to parents.
I was sitting in a waiting room with Isa. We see an acquaintance and that individual comes over to say hi. This person makes a comment about dancing to which I respond , "Isa why don't you get up and show him your fancy moves." She was having none of it and buried her head shyly.
That's fine.
We all feel shy.
No big whoop.
But then this person feels free to say, "It's ok Mom, she doesn't have to preform. She's her own person."

NO DUH BUDDY! What sort of patronizing b.s. is that huh?

I absolutely hate it when this happens and it seems to happen more often then it should. No matter what way you look at it, that sort of statement is unhelpful and impertinent. It's as if people's default mentality on mothers is that we are pushy, ignorant ninnies that need to be made aware of how faulty we are. Are people working out their own Mother issues on us? What the heck?
